The National air company (NAC) «Uzbekistan Airways» has presented the results of activity for 2017

The results of operational-financial activity for 2017, as well as condition of flight safety and other matters were presented on the meeting of the Council of the National air company.

During 2017 22,950 flight were performed on the aircraft of the NAC, 2,703.2 thousand passengers were transported. In total 48.9 thousand tons of cargo were carried, including excess baggage and mail, increase is equal 11,6% as compared with previous year. 1,044 flights were fulfilled on cargo aircraft of the NAC, 27.4 thousand tons of cargo were transported.

For increasing the commercial activity of the NAC on international air transportations market the electronic Interline, Code-sharing and Special Prorate agreements were concluded with some foreign air companies. New routes to Dushanbe from Tashkent, to Istanbul from Samarkand were opened, flights to Lahore were resumed, en-route frequencies to Almaty, Astana, as well as on route Urgench – Sankt-Petersburg were increased. In July 2017 the direct flights to New York were begun to operate; as of today the NAC is the only air company in the Central Asia performing nonstop transatlantic flights to the North America.

Air company has passed audit under operational safety standards of IATA. Re-certification and internal audits, performed in the structural divisions of the NAC, have confirmed the flight safety level of air company as compliant with requirements of IOSA. For effective functioning of the Flight Safety Management System (FSMS) it was decided to continue the work on implementation of Automated Risk Management System (ARMS).

For popularization of Uzbek tourist sector and attraction of tourists to the republic the representatives of the NAC together with State Committee of Tourism and travel agencies hold presentation road-shows, participate in international tourist fairs. After participation in such fairs the air company has been awarded with diploma for the best stand on IUTF-2017, with certificates for weighty contribution to development of tourist potential of Uzbekistan and successful participation in the fairs «Tourism on the Silk Road» and «World of Leisure», as well as with diploma of TITF-2017 for «Long-term and fruitful co-operation». For promotion of tourist product on external markets the single portal «Uzbekistan travel» is used. System of “on-line” booking and air tickets sale via official web-site of air company has been implemented and worked with payment systems “Uzcard”, “Visa”; sale of air tickets within the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been fully transferred to the national currency.

In accordance with the “Investment Program of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2017” and “Program of development and modernization of engineering-communication and road-transport infrastructure for 2015-2019” the four investment projects are realized in the NAC “Uzbekistan Airways”, namely, on building the international passenger terminal “Tashkent-4” in the capital airport and hangar for maintenance of aircraft Boeing-787 “Dreamliner”, on reconstruction of old building of domestic flights in airport “Tashkent”, on building the passenger terminal in airport “Nukus” and storehouse of oil-lubricant materials in airport “Urgench”.

Having discussed all agenda matters, the Council of the NAC has made some decisions, directed to realization of tasks stated by the President and the Government of the state, to improvement of production processes, provision of flight safety, increase of servicing level and efficiency of air company activity.
